Retouch Challenge #10
How I Did It
Using PaintShopPro 7
Using PSP 7
I found this one extremely difficult. As a result I was constantly switching
back and forth between layers trying to get it to suit me. I never did get a
smile for her... but she doesn't look quite as angry.
- Duped original to use for work.
- HAIR - Using magic wand.... selected hair on left side and copied as new
layer. Mirrored and rotated it into position over right side. Felt I needed
more hair so I repeated. Adjusted brightness on these two layers to blend
better with the right side. Erased extraneous hair. Merged layers and used
smudge to blend certain areas.
- Selected girl with magic wand... copied onto new image. Used eraser to
clean up some
- Adjusted saturation, lightness, and contrast.
- Found a background from files and added as new layer behind girl.. Used
gaussian blur on background.
- Edges of girl looked sharp so I used the retouch>soften tool around
her.
- Was still unsatisfied with color so I split channels on layer with girl.
Took the red layer and copied as new layer over girl with low opacity and
blend mode set on multiply. Merged these two layers.
- Using clone tool... widened mouth, narrowed bottom lip and attempted to
make more of a smile. Decided she needed laugh lines so using
retouch>darken made her some then softened using retouch>soften.
- Decided eyes needed widening so using lasso tool selected top lid, copied
and pasted as new layer. Repositioned it a bit higher. Merged these two
layers and used clone brush to correct area under new eyelid. Repeated this
for second eye.
- Made new layer and with airbrush on low opacity added a bit of blush,
lipstick.
- Colored the eyes a bit and added a hi-lite.
