Vectors (1) Text on Curve
Tutorial can be found HERE.
Homework
Using what we have learned in this lesson, I want you to design
a Logo or Banner using each of the techniques in the tutorial.
(1) CENTERED TEXT ON AN OPEN CURVE
(2) RIGHT AND LEFT ALIGNMENT OF TEXT ON AN OPEN CURVE
(3) TEXT ON A CLOSED CURVE
That means you will have 3 (three) images on your page. Using any color scheme
or embellishments you wish.
(1) CENTERED TEXT ON AN OPEN CURVE
What I Did
Followed tutorial until I had text.
Colored Top line with Autumn Gradient
Colored Bottom line with invered Autumn Gradient
Added new layer and applied drop shadow
Merged all layers but bottom
On Bottom layer applied Effects>Texture>Sculpture with #3
Using Selection tool created border of 15
Used Effects>3D> Buttonize
Inverted Selection
Used Effects>3D> Inner bevel.
(2) RIGHT AND LEFT ALIGNMENT OF TEXT ON AN OPEN CURVE
What I Did
Followed tutorial thru putting text on open curve. NOTE: I had to add a couple of spaces before "Self" to prevent it running into "PSPUG".
Edited text to change color. (Decided to skip 3D effects.)
On new layer added eye from Preset Shapes. and adjusted to fit into oval. Converted to rastor and erased a portion of it.
Colored background layer flesh tone and added Effects>Texture>Texture
Added border. Selected, colored and applied inner bevel.
(3) TEXT ON A CLOSED CURVE
What I Did
Basically just followed the tutorial but used black as background, an oval rather than circle and had line width about17.
After doing text, I colored it with gradient and also colored the oval with metallic gradient.
I then applied inner bevel to oval.
Next I used rectangle preset shapes with foreground color set on metallic gradient, line width of 2 and centered it on canvas.
I then added border.... selected .... floodfilled with metallic gradient, and then applied inner bevel.
